Ich meine, ...

"Ich meine, ..." is an expression used to show your opinions, thoughts or insights. There are three possibilities to fill the gab: "Nebensatz" (subordinate clause), a simplified subordinate clause and "Zu-Konstruktion". Let's see examples:

"Ich meine, dass die Menschen nicht zu viel Stress haben sollten."
"Ich meine, Du kommst jetzt mit mir."
"Ich meine, im Restaurant zu essen."

Notice the verb position of the first and second sentences. Whenever you use a subordinate clause (starting with "dass"), verbs have to be pushed all the way to the last positions. For English learners, the second form may be easier, but sooner or later you have to use subordinate clauses. So the advise is to stick with the first form as much as you can.
